The cursor jumps to the end while editing a note

If you have a Samsung device and the screen/cursor randomly jumps while editing a note, please try the following:

  1. go to settings of the Samsung keyboard
  2. tap on “Suggest text corrections”
  3. in the “Grammarly” section, tap on “Manage apps”
  4. disable “Note Everything” in the list

This seems to be an issue from the Samsung keyboard / Grammarly service. Maybe it will be fixed with a future software update from Samsung.

Move data to a new device

Auto backup with Google

Note Everything supports the auto app backup feature by Google. So usually the data should restore on the new device if you use the device transfer wizard from Google to setup your new device.
You can find more information here

Use the integrated Google Drive backup

The app supports automatic backup to Google Drive. You can create manual backups or let the app automatically do it.

You can easily restore a backup from another device (as long as it is the same Google account). See the backup section for details.

Manually move data with full backup

To move your data to a new device, we recommend using the full backup feature of the Pro Upgrade features.

To move you data follow these steps:

  • Make sure to have the latest version of Note Everything on both devices.
  • On the old device, go to menu -> backup -> backup settings
  • Tap “Pick” backup location and select a folder on your sdcard / storage (maybe create a new one for Note Everything).
  • Go back and tap “Backup to ZIP-file”
  • The backup file will be saved in the just selected folder, copy that file to the new device (use “nearby share”, some kind of cloud service like Google Drive, or a computer or something like that)
  • On the new device, open Note Everything, go to menu -> backup and tap “Restore from ZIP-Backup”
  • Navigate to and pick the previously copied file to restore it
Is Note Everything available for iOS / iPhone?

Currently Note Everything is only available for Android devices.

If you can find a Note Everything app in the Apple Appstore, this app is not from SoftXperience!
Probably someone has stolen my name and/or icon. Please don’t download this app.

I have lost the password to an encrypted note

If you encrypt a note, the app really encrypts it with YOUR entered password. So nobody can decrypt it without the correct password. Not even we can!

So if it tells you, the password is wrong, it may really be wrong. Perhaps you have a typo or your keyboard added a space character or something else.

Otherwise if you are really sure the password is correct, the encrypted data may got corrupt. For example due to an ungraceful shutdown (battery remove) or similar so that the data couldn’t get saved correctly. If this is the case, we can not decrypt the data anymore. Maybe you want to restore an older backup to get the note back working. But please note that a restore overwrites the current data, so you might be loosing data created in the meantime.

I have the Pro add-on, but the app wants a subscription

The one time purchase Pro add-on is discontinued. If you purchased it, we won’t remove any features you paid for and you can still use it.

But there will be new features in the future that are only available with an active subscription of the Pro features.

So for example for the Google Drive backup feature you need an active subscription. You can purchase it directly in the app.

If you have an active Pro subscription, you don’t need the add-on app anymore because the subscription includes all Pro features.

But keep the main base app installed as this app holds your data.

Is it possible to synchronize data between devices?

Currently there is no synchronization for Note Everything.
